Deep Roots

"And he told them many things in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. ..." Matthew 13-3-8

God says what did I tell you when people start to question to you. You think that everything is telling you to stop when God is telling you to start and this is such a revelation because for the longest time I just wanted to start and I didn’t know that starting would come in the hardest season in my life, when it doesn’t make sense to start. When the season looks like you need to stop it is a sign that you need to start something. But God says, this is where I do my best work, if he could find someone with faith even hard things happen, so that he can create deep roots in you, and whatever comes or goes your faith will not be shaken and you can then be entrusted with more.

Are you being obedient even no one sees you?

For example if you want to be married or have a good marriage you need to learn faithfulness in the current season you are in because in couple weeks they will get on your nerves and you will not want them, but you have to stay faithful to them and in this season God is training you to be faithful. Training looks like doing something that doesn't seem glamorous, or maybe not posting everything that God is doing in your life on social media or staying off of it because it could lead you to compare your seed with someone elses. Or not listening to him when he wants you to remove things from your life (this one is hard). We can't keep uprooting our seed if we want to have a life that is glorifying to God. Also just know God's way is not the easiest, it's not the way that we naturally are inclined to, but it provides the most freedom.

I also want to clarify that faithfulness does not mean you have to keep score on how good you've been compared to how bad you've been focusing on either the good you do or the bad you do could lead to having a works based type faith, but faithfulness comes with obedience and devotion.

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?" Luke 16:10-12

I for sure know that God is trying to teach me faithfulness that whatever comes or goes that I will still stick to what God has called me to do and it’s actually crazy because I honestly feel like he has been training me in such a way that I always end up being faithful even when it’s hard, even when I didn’t feel enough or even when I lost my grandpa I still stayed faithful, and I believe that is not by my own power but by His. So I encourage you all to continue to pray for your roots to grow deeper and to not be so discouraged by the hard seasons of life because in those times God does a deep work in us.

"Let your roots grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness." Colossians 2:7

"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, with roots that are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8

Prayer

Lord, I pray that I will clearly hear the sound of your voice and not follow the voice of a stranger. That I will develop a relationship with you where I will have a heart that wants to obey only you, so that my roots can grow deep and will not waver in the storm. Give me the desire to do what pleases you and may I please get the desire to get you know you better and to follow your ways. Lord I give you my yes, even when I don't know the outcome because I know that you are faithful. Be near to me as I keep near to you, in Jesus name, Amen.
